Research Interests

Immune receptors play a crucial role in human immunity and are important therapeutic targets for tumor immunotherapy and autoimmune diseases. Our group mainly uses diverse techniques such as biochemistry, immunology, cell biology, and structural biology to explore the working principles of important immune receptors. We will combine biochemical and structural analysis to design and screen antibodies that target immune receptors, aiming to precisely regulate immune cell functions. Moreover, we will conduct preclinical studies on these antibodies, primarily applying them in key areas such as tumors and infectious diseases. In addition to these goals, we will design and improve new immune receptor ligands based on the working mechanism of immune receptors. We hope to apply these new immune receptor ligands in immunotherapy, thereby promoting the development of a new generation of immunotherapy treatments. Our main research directions are as follows:

1. Molecular mechanisms of key immune receptors

3. Design of new immune receptor ligands

Dr. Su (suqiang@smart.org.cn) has extensive experience in the structural biology of immune receptors. To date, he has published 13 articles in prestigious journals, including 2 papers in Nature (2025, 2024), 2 in Science (2022, 2018), 1 in Cell Discovery (2026), and 4 in Nature Communications (2026a, 2026b, 2021, 2018) as first or corresponding author. Additionally, he has co-authored 4 papers in journals such as Cell Research and PNAS. His landmark achievements include the structural determination of the complete B cell receptor (2022, Science), the complete γδ T cell receptor (2024, Nature), and the complete Fc receptor (2025, Nature).
