On the morning of May 10, Professor Yan Yongbin, Professor Wang Jianbin, Professor Yang Luyi, representatives of the Academy Management Center and 33 students visited SMART and SZBL.
Dr. Pan Xiaojing, a special researcher invited by SMART, led the students and teachers to visit the research platform and the laboratory of the research group. Dr. Pan introduced to the students the experimental teaching environment of the research group, the ongoing scientific research work and the scientific research results achieved. Through the field visit, the vivid and three-dimensional scientific research work was shown in front of the students. Afterwards, Dr. Yao Yuanyuan, a specially-appointed researcher, exchanged views with the visiting students and teachers on the mechanism of brain-mind interactions in sleep, which is the focus of the research group. Professor Zhang Xinhao, Deputy Director of SZBL and Assistant President of SMART, introduced the construction and development of SMART and SZBL, the introduction of talents and talent cultivation, etc., and led the students to visit the cutting-edge technology research platform of SZBL. Laboratory PI representatives, Dr. Gu Zheng, Dr. Huang Kai, Dr. Li Lei, and Dr. Yin Yandong, shared with the students the research direction of their respective groups, the latest scientific research news and their personal experience in education and research. Dr. Deng Lin, Deputy Director of Graduate Department, introduced to the students the development of the two young institutions, and answered their questions about the current postgraduate training of the two institutions. During the discussion, students asked questions and spoke enthusiastically, and the atmosphere was warm.

SMART and SZBL work closely with Tsinghua University and other first-class universities, through the establishment of a multidisciplinary cross-fertilization of scientific research training platform, to broaden the horizons of students, stimulate students' interest in scientific research, encourage students to devote themselves to scientific research, and jointly strive to explore the cultivation of outstanding and innovative talents in the science of the new mechanism for the fusion of education.
