Pan Xiangbin’s research team has long been dedicated to the development of novel interventional devices and the establishment of an innovative ecosystem for structural heart disease device research and transformation. The team pioneered ultrasound-guided percutaneous interventional technology, earning the “WHO Award for Innovation in Health Technology” and the “National Technology Invention Award.” Recognized by the United Nations as a global sustainable development initiative, the technology has received funding and support from the UN and is widely promoted in countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative.

Over the past decade, Pan Xiangbin’s team has made significant strides in building a new technological framework for cardiovascular disease treatment, including:

1. Methodology for Ultrasound-Guided Interventional Therapy: Expanded applications to ventricular septal defect closure, aortic valve replacement, mitral valve repair, tricuspid valve replacement, pacemaker implantation, and pulsed-field ablation (PFA), pioneering new directions in structural interventional technology. This achievement was selected by the United Nations as a global sustainable development initiative.

2. Sustainable Innovation System for Technology and Devices: Developed a series of novel ultrasound-guided interventional delivery systems.

3. Integrated Innovation System for Technology, Devices, and Equipment: Created ultrasound-guided transjugular interventional techniques with matching devices, as well as mobile ultrasound-guided surgical units, successfully implemented in over 30 countries and widely recognized by the international medical community.
